A developer named Mike Wing has created a website called Call of Duty Ambience that streams recreated 2010s-style multiplayer voice chat lobbies, letting users relive the nostalgic (and often chaotic) sound of players trash-talking each other, purely as background noise to fall asleep to. The site currently supports Modern Warfare 2, Black Ops and Black Ops 2, recreating the classic Xbox 360-era interface, gamertags and visuals associated with those games' post-match lobbies.

Wing explained his motivation in a post on X, saying that while most people fall asleep to white noise, he prefers the sound of "grown men arguing in CoD lobbies", so he built a site playing that audio 24/7. Such lobbies were a defining social feature of early Call of Duty multiplayer, where players lingered between matches to chat and argue, an element largely absent from more recent instalments; the project follows recent PS4 and PS5 ports of Black Ops 1 and 2, which have already stirred renewed nostalgia for the era.
