Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on Switch 2 actually looks to be running and playing really well
Call of Duty is returning to Nintendo hardware for the first time in 13 years, and early footage suggests the Switch 2 version of Modern Warfare 4 runs surprisingly well. The game's open beta launched today for PS5, PC and Xbox Series X|S, but some content creators were already able to stream the Switch 2 edition ahead of its wider release, offering the first real look at how the port performs on Nintendo's console.
A 14-minute video from streamer BoTalksGames showed the game running smoothly in docked mode, and a follow-up clip demonstrated solid performance in handheld mode too, albeit with less visual sharpness than on more powerful platforms. The Switch 2 port is being handled by Digital Legends, based on Infinity Ward's game, and marks Call of Duty's first Nintendo appearance since Call of Duty: Ghosts on the Wii U in 2013. The full open beta is due to reach all Switch 2 players next weekend.
