Cancer Bats frontman Liam Cormier has given a track-by-track breakdown of the Canadian hardcore band's new album, "Give Me Dirt", explaining the personal and political inspirations behind each song. The insight offers fans a deeper look at the record's themes, ranging from environmental devastation to personal transformation, while also highlighting the guest vocalists who feature across the release.

Opener "World Wild Fire Death Race" tackles corporate greed and government cutbacks amid worsening wildfires, featuring guest vocals from Nate Newton, while "Stay Stuck" is a defiantly positive anthem about seizing the moment. "Don't Trip" was inspired by a motorcycle ride through the Canadian Rockies during a fierce storm, and "Bright Eyes Of Gold" critiques capitalism's failure to provide fulfilment, featuring Chris Cresswell on vocals. The title track "Give Me Dirt" draws on a motorcycle trip through Nepal and shaped the album's back-to-basics artistic direction, emphasising authenticity over digital polish.
