Two men have been charged with murder over the fatal shooting of a 22-year-old plumber in the car park of a Melbourne soccer club. Daniel Hussein, who was engaged to be married, was gunned down near HR Uren Reserve in Thomastown on Sunday evening and died after being treated at the scene, in what police believe was a targeted attack between people known to one another.

Marcus Jajou, 19, and Lucas Jajou, 20, both from Donnybrook, were arrested alongside a 19-year-old woman in Deer Park on Wednesday evening and charged with murder on Thursday following police interviews. They were remanded in custody by a Melbourne magistrate to face court at a later date, while the woman was released without charge pending further inquiries. Mr Hussein's uncle described the loss as "enormous" after loved ones gathered to farewell him at a funeral, and police say the killing is not believed to be linked to two earlier shootings in Melbourne's west last month.
