An 11-year-old boy was seriously injured after being shot inside a home in Norwest, north-west Sydney. Police are investigating how the firearm was discharged and why, with the child’s condition making the incident particularly serious.

Emergency services attended a Fairway Drive property shortly after 5pm on Monday, where officers found the boy with gunshot wounds to his face and neck. Paramedics treated him before taking him to hospital; five other people inside the home were unharmed, and police said the gun appeared to have been fired indoors.
