A 13-year-old schoolboy was airlifted to hospital after suffering an injury consistent with a stabbing near Eastbourne seafront on Sunday afternoon. Sussex Police are searching for a group of youths who reportedly left the scene, while maintaining an increased presence in the area to investigate and reassure the public.

The incident occurred at about 5.10pm on Grand Parade, near Elms Avenue and Cavendish Place. Police have appealed for witnesses and anyone with relevant CCTV, mobile-phone or dashcam footage to contact them online or by calling 101, quoting serial 1096 of 20.09.
