Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” has become the longest-running No. 1 single in Billboard Hot 100 history, reaching the summit for a record 23rd week and surpassing Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You”. The achievement is notable because Langley’s song is not a seasonal release and has repeatedly returned to No. 1 since first topping the chart in February.

The track has also spent 40 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart, while Langley’s album Dandelion has reclaimed the top spot on the Billboard 200 for a third week. “Choosin’ Texas” is currently No. 2 in the UK after previously reaching No. 1, although Carey could potentially regain the Hot 100 record when her Christmas song returns to the chart later this year.
