Pulisic, Balogun and McKennie recalled for US Nations League ties
Mauricio Pochettino has recalled Christian Pulisic, Folarin Balogun and Weston McKennie to the United States squad for two Concacaf Nations League quarter-finals against Haiti. The matches will be the US team’s first competitive games since its World Cup last-16 exit, and offer a chance to begin rebuilding under Pochettino.
The 26-player squad includes two potential international debutants, among them defender Reed Baker-Whiting and midfielder Santiago Castañeda. Haiti’s nominal home match will be played in Miami on 14 November because of security problems in Port-au-Prince; the return leg is in Cincinnati on 17 November. The US is considered a strong contender for the title, with several experienced players returning alongside newer options.
