Anthropic adds account-linked personal finance features to Claude
Anthropic has launched Personal Finance, a tool that lets users connect bank and credit card accounts to Claude through Plaid and ask questions about their money. The move positions Claude as a financial companion and brings it closer to ChatGPT, which introduced similar account-connected tools in May.
The tool can summarise spending by category, compare it with usual patterns, flag possible duplicate charges, fees or rising bills, and explain financial terms. Anthropic says access is read-only and covers balances and up to two years of transactions; Personal Finance conversations are not used to train its models. The beta is rolling out this week to Pro, Max and Ultra subscribers in the US.
In short
- Claude can analyse connected bank and credit card accounts.
- It can summarise spending and flag possible fees or duplicate charges.
- The US beta is for Pro, Max and Ultra subscribers.
