Club Soko is cartoonishly dark and splattered with beer – and it’s a wonderful puzzler, too

Eurogamer · 3 hours ago

Club Soko is a Sokoban-style puzzle game set in a grimy, cartoon nightclub, and Eurogamer’s impression is strongly positive. Its nightclub setting gives familiar block-pushing challenges a distinctive sense of place, making the puzzles feel like navigating a sweaty, crowded club rather than an abstract grid.

Players manoeuvre around dancers, bouncers and staff with different movement effects, while aiming to reach a hatch leading deeper into the club. The compact levels encourage planning backwards from the exit, obeying Sokoban’s central rule that obstacles can be pushed but not pulled; optional secret routes lead to hidden, often much harder stages, including puzzles involving mimes that mirror the player’s moves.

  • Club Soko turns Sokoban puzzles into nightclub navigation.
  • Character-based obstacles make complex rules easier to follow.
  • Secret levels add challenging optional discoveries.
