Como have signed Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah in a deal worth more than £30m, ending the 27-year-old's near two-decade association with the west London club, which he joined as a child. The move gives Cesc Fabregas's side, who qualified for the Champions League by finishing fourth in Serie A last season, a well-established England international to strengthen their defence as they prepare for continental competition.

Chalobah has signed a five-year contract, with Chelsea receiving an initial £25.7m and up to a further £5.1m in add-ons after lengthy negotiations. He made 151 appearances for Chelsea, winning five trophies including the 2018 FA Cup and 2025 Conference League, and had loan spells at Ipswich, Huddersfield, Lorient and Crystal Palace. He has two senior England caps and was a late call-up to the national squad's World Cup panel.
