Control Resonant is the ‘fastest selling’ game in Remedy’s history, says CEO
Developing story first seen 7 hours ago
Control Resonant sold more than one million copies worldwide by 15 October 2026, three weeks after its digital launch on 24 September. The milestone came on the day its physical edition was released. Remedy Entertainment says the sequel is the fastest-selling game in its history. Chief executive Jean-Charles Gaudechon described it as a defining milestone for the company and its first self-published game of this scale.
Remedy estimates that close to half of Control Resonant’s players are new to the series. Its latest business review also reported quarterly revenue of €39.6 million, more than three times the figure for the same period in 2025, driven largely by pre-orders and the game’s first seven days of sales. Remedy recorded a €0.6 million operating profit for the quarter, compared with a €16.4 million loss a year earlier. The company said sales over the rest of 2026 would determine its full-year result.

Explained simply
Remedy Entertainment is a Finnish video game company known for story-led action games, including the original Control. Control Resonant is its sequel, set in the same fictional world and released first as a digital game before its physical edition.
The game’s sales are significant because Remedy says it published a game of this scale itself for the first time. The company’s quarterly revenue and operating result improved sharply from a year earlier, though it says sales later in 2026 will affect its full-year result.
