Country Star Shares Hopeful Update on Daughter After Hospital Stay
Country singer-songwriter Rory Feek has shared an uplifting update after his daughter Indy returned home following an eight-day hospital stay that included open-heart surgery. Indy had earlier needed to be airlifted after fluid built up around her heart, prompting an outpouring of concern and support from fans as Feek kept them informed throughout her treatment and recovery.
Writing on his Substack, Feek said doctors kept the 12-year-old at Austin's children's hospital longer than initially planned, purely as a precaution, before confirming she was well enough to leave. He described her as looking and feeling "better than ever" and almost back to her old self, though her mother is being cautious about her returning to her own bedroom just yet. The family received messages of support from many well-wishers, including country music icon Randy Travis, who said he was glad to see prayers answered.
