Explained simply

Para-cycling is the sport of bicycle racing for athletes with a range of impairments. Track events take place on an indoor oval, with riders competing in different classifications so that athletes with similar levels of activity limitation race against one another.

Kadeena Cox is a British para-cyclist who competes in the C4 classification and has also represented Great Britain in athletics. The sprint is a short track race in which riders build speed and race head-to-head; tandem events pair a visually impaired rider with a sighted pilot on a two-person bicycle.

The World Championships bring together national teams to compete for titles across para-cycling events. Results contribute to each country’s medal tally and help show how its riders are performing internationally.
