Swedish post-metal band Cult of Luna have released a new single, "A Way Back", taken from their forthcoming tenth studio album, "In The Shadow Of Your Shadow", due out on 6 November via RED CRK Recordings. Co-vocalist and guitarist Fredrik Kihlberg describes the song as addressing feelings of being lost or trapped and the struggle to find a way back to a safe space when anxiety takes hold. The release marks another milestone for a band celebrated as one of the most inventive and enduring acts in alternative heavy music, 25 years after their debut.

The new track follows the album's title single, which has already drawn praise from outlets including Kerrang!, Metal Injection and Brooklyn Vegan. The full album runs to 71 minutes and reportedly draws on frontman Johannes Persson's recent experiences of loss and buried emotions resurfacing. Formed in Umeå, Sweden, alongside acts such as Meshuggah and Refused, Cult of Luna have built a acclaimed catalogue since 2001, including "Salvation", "Vertikal" and the Grammis-nominated "Mariner" with Julie Christmas, and have collaborated with artists including Justin Broadrick and the late Mark Lanegan.
