Cult of Luna have released "A Way Back," the second single from their upcoming album In the Shadow of Your Shadow, which arrives on 6th November via RED CRK Recordings. It follows the album's title track, released in June, and is the Swedish metal band's tenth studio LP, continuing their long-running push to avoid creative stagnation.

Co-vocalist and guitarist Fredrik Kihlberg described the song as exploring feelings of being lost or trapped and the struggle to find a way back to safety amid anxiety, likening its heavy-ballad style to Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters" or Pain of Salvation's quieter work, built from layered acoustic and electric guitars, piano, synth and percussion. Founder Johannes Persson said stagnation is his only fear and that the band will keep evolving regardless of accusations of repetition. The nine-track album also features guest appearances from Joe Duplantier and David Eugene Edwards.
