BBC Cymru Wales has agreed a new three-year broadcasting deal with the Football Association of Wales to show live Cymru Premier matches, marking the BBC's return to Welsh domestic football coverage. The agreement will see at least 20 live games per season shown on BBC iPlayer, alongside extensive updates on BBC Sport Online, running until 2029 and coming as the league's top tier expands and grows its profile.

The first match under the deal will be Barry Town United v Cardiff Met on Saturday 15 August, followed by Ammanford v Connah's Quay Nomads on 22 August. The Cymru Premier, formed in 1992, has been revamped for its 35th season, expanding from 12 to 16 clubs with the promotion of Llandudno, Airbus UK, Holywell Town, Trefelin BGC, Cambrian United and Ammanford, and shifting most fixtures to Friday evenings. FAW head of domestic leagues Jack Sharp said the deal doubles free live broadcast coverage compared with last season, complementing the existing Cymru Football TV subscription service.
