Dale Dickey, a veteran character actress known for roles in Winter's Bone, Breaking Bad and Hell or High Water, has received her first Emmy nomination for playing Rosemary in Apple TV+'s Widow's Bay. The 64-year-old, who broke into Hollywood in 1995 after moving to Los Angeles, credits the recognition largely to a memorable 11-page genealogy monologue delivered by her character, which has become one of the show's standout moments.

Dickey told The Hollywood Reporter she was in genuine shock at the nomination after three decades of largely overlooked work, and praised series creator Katie Dippold for persevering to get Widow's Bay made. Despite the milestone, she revealed no fashion designer has yet offered to dress her for the ceremony, prompting her to publicly appeal for help, joking that "Emmy nominee" is a welcome change from being known for playing outsiders such as fugitives and addicts.
