Dan + Shay Become Just the Second Country Duo in History To Achieve Rare Music Milestone

Dan + Shay’s song “Tequila” has received Diamond certification in both the United States and Canada, making the duo only the second in country music history to reach that milestone. The recognition highlights the song’s lasting popularity, nearly nine years after its release.

Released in January 2018 as the lead single from the duo’s self-titled album, “Tequila” topped the US Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts and won a Grammy for Best Country Duo/Group Performance. Dan + Shay thanked fans on Instagram and celebrated the achievement as 10 million units; their subsequent releases include four more albums, with their latest, “Young”, arriving in August.
