Dark Souls-style extraction RPG with mixed Steam reviews celebrates 1 million players with a roadmap to make those reviews less mixed
Mistfall Hunter, which blends Dark Souls-style combat with extraction shooter gameplay, has surpassed one million active players. Developer Bellring Games marked the milestone by distributing in-game rewards including cosmetic items and currency to celebrate player engagement.
Responding to widespread community requests, the studio announced plans to add solo-playable versions of Brandrgarde map missions by mid-season 1 in September, available at both standard and Cataclysm difficulty levels. Bellring acknowledged that splitting the player base into separate matchmaking queues will create new class balancing challenges, but indicated this trade-off aligns with player preferences.
