David Heyman Inks First-Look Film Deal With Amazon MGM Studios After Long Tenure At Warner Bros.

Deadline · 2 hours ago

Producer David Heyman has signed a first-look film deal with Amazon MGM Studios through his company Heyday Films, ending a three-decade run of similar arrangements with Warner Bros. The move comes as Warner Bros.' talent roster faces scrutiny amid Paramount's pending acquisition of parent company Warner Bros. Discovery, with other high-profile figures such as Quinta Brunson also having recently departed for rival studios.

The multi-year agreement gives Amazon MGM first look at scripted and unscripted live-action and animated films Heyman intends to produce, though it excludes the James Bond franchise reboot he already co-produces there with Amy Pascal under Denis Villeneuve's direction. At Warner Bros., Heyman's credits included the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts franchises, Barbie, Wonka and Gravity, and he remains attached to the studio's upcoming Harry Potter series for HBO Max. His other producing credits span Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, Marriage Story and the Paddington films, with upcoming projects including Klara and the Sun and Artificial.
