Wizards of the Coast has confirmed that Dungeons & Dragons is adopting a Magic: The Gathering-style Universes Beyond crossover approach, beginning with a World of Warcraft sourcebook. The announcement marks a significant expansion of D&D’s use of external franchises, following smaller past tie-ins, and may signal further crossover releases under its new seasonal publishing model.

The 256-page Dungeons & Dragons: World of Warcraft book launches on 17 November and is the sole confirmed crossover title so far, anchoring the Season of Champions. Announced at Gen Con 2026, it draws on 22 years of Warcraft material, including the Midnight expansion, and adds 11 species, six new subclasses, over 60 spells, seven dungeons, 30 bosses, more than 50 monsters and 26 magic items; miniatures and a digital Icecrown Citadel adventure are also planned.

  • D&D begins a new crossover strategy with World of Warcraft.
  • The 256-page book launches on 17 November.
  • Further crossover projects are possible but unconfirmed.
