Steven Spielberg's alien-contact film Disclosure Day is heading to home video, with 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD editions arriving on 25 August following a successful cinema run; the movie is already available to rent digitally. To mark the release, star Emily Blunt has used an exclusive behind-the-scenes clip to shed light on one of the film's more puzzling elements: the empathic powers of her character, Margaret, who gains extraordinary abilities after an alien encounter alongside co-star John O'Connor's character.

Blunt explained that Margaret's power, triggered by locking eyes with another person, allows her to instantly perceive everything about them, including their pain and joy, though the mechanism varies depending on the scene and evolves across the film. The physical release will also include a 50-minute documentary featuring interviews with Spielberg and the cast, alongside a featurette on Spielberg's long-standing partnership with composer John Williams, who scored the film.
