DoorDash will pay $131.5 million to settle New York City enforcement action over late, missing and miscalculated payments to delivery workers. The settlement addresses alleged breaches of minimum wage and delivery worker protection laws, including a dispute over whether workers should be paid for time spent online between deliveries.

More than 260,000 workers will share over $115 million, with compensation calculated at roughly twice the amount each was underpaid. DoorDash blamed technical problems and complex deliveries, while agreeing to follow the city’s interpretation of on-call pay rules, provide monthly data for three years, improve its app and introduce internal controls to prevent further violations.
