Marvel Snap's Draft mode will return on 28th September, just three weeks after the current run ends offline next week, developer Second Dinner has confirmed exclusively to Destructoid. The revived mode will introduce a fresh twist: a scoring system borrowed from the game's Sanctum Showdown mode, replacing the format used in Draft's initial run and reshaping which cards and decks are strongest.

Under the new system, players compete for one of three locations each turn, with early turns worth one point each before a location becomes worth at least four points from turn three onwards; snapping can push a location's value up to six points, and the first player to reach 16 points wins. Second Dinner has also confirmed that Draft will use players' starred card variants rather than defaults. The changes follow a well-received debut for Draft, which drew new and returning players, though a narrow "meta" built around Boost decks had already emerged; the update arrives alongside a new Snap season beginning immediately.

  • Marvel Snap's Draft mode returns 28th September, sooner than expected.
  • New version uses Sanctum Showdown-style location scoring, first to 16 points.
  • Draft will now display players' starred card variants, not defaults.
