Dragon’s Dogma 2 is getting a Fallout-inspired homesteading mod with fully customisable houses, and its creator has tons of big ideas for it

Eurogamer · 4 hours ago

A modder working under the name SonicaKP is developing a new mod for Dragon's Dogma 2 that introduces Fallout-style homesteading, allowing players to build and furnish their own houses from scratch. The mod, shown in a gameplay demo, lets users construct a home in the countryside using gathered resources and decorate it with furniture bought with in-game gold, distinguishing it from other customisation mods that feel more like shortcuts by fitting more naturally within the base game's systems.

The creator, who previously released the RiftSpeak AI conversation mod for the game's main pawn, has not given a release date but says this homesteading feature is part of a larger planned expansion. Future additions are said to include creature taming, new mounts such as griffins, gardening and deeper homesteading mechanics, drawing comparisons to Skyrim's Hearthfire DLC. The mod's development comes as Capcom prepares its own official Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen expansion, due for release on 9th October, led by original Dark Arisen director Kenta Kinoshita, amid efforts to address player feedback on the base game.
