Swedish pole vault world record holder Armand Duplantis has released "Gold", the official anthem for World Athletics' inaugural Ultimate Championship, continuing his side career as a musician alongside his athletics success. The song, written and performed by Duplantis, has been released on major streaming platforms and will be performed live by him at the close of the championship, reflecting his growing profile as both a sporting and cultural figure.

The Ultimate Championship will run from 11-13 September in Budapest, bringing together world champions, Diamond League winners and the top performers of 2026 to compete for a $10m (£7.5m) prize pot. The music video, filmed in Budapest, features footage from across Duplantis' career, and he said the track is about representing something bigger than oneself. It follows his 2025 debut single "Bop", since when he has released five further songs and amassed more than 11 million Spotify streams; World Athletics President Sebastian Coe called the anthem a fitting way to inspire fans globally.
