Sarajevo Film Festival is one of south-east Europe's major cinema events, held annually in Bosnia and Herzegovina since it began during the Bosnian War siege of the city in the 1990s. Each year its main competition awards prizes to feature films, chosen by a panel of judges drawn from the international film world, and this recognition can help raise a film's profile and boost its prospects for wider release.

This year's jury will be led by British actress Emily Watson, known for films including "Breaking the Waves" and "Punch-Drunk Love", alongside Greek New Wave filmmaker Athina Rachel Tsangari, Croatian director Igor Bezinović, North Macedonian actress Sara Klimoska, and Matthijs Wouter Knol, chief executive of the European Film Academy.

The 32nd edition of the festival runs from 14 to 21 August, with the jury's chosen winners to be announced at the closing ceremony.
