Emmy Rossum Named RAINN Ambassador Amid New Partnership to Deepen Public Understanding of Sexual Violence and Survivorship (Exclusive)
Emmy Rossum has been named an ambassador for RAINN and is launching a partnership with the organisation to improve public understanding of sexual violence and survivorship. The collaboration will use storytelling to challenge stigma, amplify survivors’ voices and encourage more thoughtful portrayals of sexual violence in entertainment.
The partnership grew from Rossum’s work on Hulu’s *Furious*, in which she plays an FBI agent and abuse survivor; RAINN advised the series during early development, and production consulted survivors and specialists. Rossum says the show focused on trauma’s aftermath and the dignity survivors deserve, regardless of whether they seem “innocent or likable”. She is due to discuss prevention, consent and boundaries at a Los Angeles event co-hosted by WME and RAINN.
In short
- Emmy Rossum is now a RAINN ambassador.
- Their partnership will use storytelling to inform and support.
- The alliance follows her work on Hulu’s *Furious*.
