Fairphone is launching its second-generation Fairbuds wireless earbuds on 14 October, continuing the company's commitment to repairability and sustainability in consumer electronics. The new model maintains the standout feature of the original Fairbuds—featuring seven fully replaceable and modular components—whilst adding improved audio capabilities through support for Sony's LDAC high-resolution codec, which represents a significant upgrade from the original model's more basic SBC and AAC codecs.

The Fairbuds 2 will be priced at €119 in Europe and $119 in the United States, representing a £20 reduction compared to the original generation, which launched at €149 (approximately £125) in 2024 and has since depreciated to $99.99 in American markets. The European-first rollout reflects Fairphone's traditional strategy, with the American release following later at the same price point.
