A fan combing through the new trailer for Netflix's *Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2* pinpointed an extremely precise in-game location from *Cyberpunk 2077*, matching a puddle shown reflecting Night City's skyline to a spot outside the Afterlife bar. The find drew praise from the show's official social media account, and it forms part of a wider pattern of fans cross-referencing the animated sequel with the source game's map, while also sparking speculation about a mysterious data shard glimpsed in the footage.

The puddle appears in the trailer's opening shot before Weak Kingsley's damaged robotic arm crashes into it. Separately, viewers have been analysing a data shard that character D slots into his neck, believing it resembles a "relic" – the consciousness-transferring tech central to the original game's plot involving Johnny Silverhand – with some fans theorising it may hold multiple consciousnesses based on a line of dialogue in the trailer. Another fan, known as Kalenko, had earlier identified several further real-world in-game locations referenced in the footage, continuing a tradition from Season 1, when CD Projekt Red added David's apartment from the show as an explorable area in the game. *Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2* is set to premiere on Netflix on 20 October 2026.
