Fast & Furious Ride Opening Date Finally Set At Universal Studios Hollywood
Universal Studios Hollywood has confirmed that its long-awaited Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift roller coaster will open on 16 September 2026, delivering on a "Summer 2026" promise made earlier in the year despite construction delays and neighbourhood noise complaints that prompted the installation of transparent sound-reduction barriers. The attraction marks a major addition to the park as Universal continues a year of celebrations for the Fast & Furious franchise's 25th anniversary.
The coaster launches from a themed warehouse garage and sends riders along 4,100 feet of aerial track down a terraced hillside, reaching speeds of 72mph, drifting up to 360 degrees and pulling forces of up to 3.6G. Guests will ride in one of four replica vehicles from the films, including Dom Toretto's Dodge Charger and Brian O'Conner's Toyota Supra, while queue areas feature a mural by artist Tristan Eaton and QR-coded props from the movies. A sister attraction is due to open at Universal Orlando Resort in 2027.
