Game director Naoki Yoshida explained that existing titles in the series are structurally more expansive than FFVII, suggesting remakes of games like Final Fantasy VI would likely demand four or five separate instalments rather than the three chapters used for the current trilogy. Director Naoki Hamaguchi acknowledged the practical constraints, noting the core development team has remained intact for over a decade on the FFVII project alone and cannot commit to future remakes at present.
