Explained simply
Spider-Man is a superhero character created by Marvel, and Peter Parker is the young man who becomes Spider-Man. Within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), a shared fictional world where multiple superheroes coexist, Peter fights crime in New York City whilst attempting to balance this with school, work, and his relationship with MJ, a young woman who is central to his personal story.
The MCU has produced multiple Spider-Man films that form a continuous story arc, with each film building on the last. The most recent film, No Way Home, concluded with significant emotional and narrative consequences that fundamentally changed Peter's circumstances and relationships, leaving major questions about his future.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the forthcoming fourth MCU Spider-Man film, positioned as the next chapter in Peter's evolving story following the dramatic conclusion of No Way Home. This new instalment is anticipated to directly explore how the events of that film continue to affect Peter's life moving forward.
