Daily Mail · 50 minutes ago

Five people have been arrested after a man in his 50s was found dead inside a house in Burton Latimer, Northamptonshire, having reportedly lain there for several days before being discovered. Detectives from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit launched a murder investigation following a postmortem examination, and police are continuing to appeal for information from local residents and businesses as the inquiry develops rapidly.

Officers were called to the property on High Street on the afternoon of 2 September after a concern was raised for the man's welfare, and a postmortem was carried out on 3 September at Leicester Royal Infirmary. Three men, aged 43, 48 and 54, have been arrested on suspicion of murder, while a 38-year-old woman and a 53-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender; all five remain in custody. Detective Inspector Cheryl Thompson described it as a "fast-paced investigation" and asked anyone with dashcam, CCTV or doorbell footage, or who witnessed suspicious activity in the area over the past week, to contact Northamptonshire Police or Crimestoppers, quoting incident number 26000526485.
