Fleetwood Mac Set Authorized Documentary Tied to ‘Rumours’ 50th Anniversary

Fleetwood Mac’s first fully authorised documentary, *Fleetwood Mac: The Chain*, will be released on Apple TV on 29 January 2027. Timed to the 50th anniversary of *Rumours*, it will trace the band’s history and explore how their music and turbulent personal lives became part of their story.

Directed by Frank Marshall, the film covers the period from Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks joining in 1974 to the present. It features previously unseen footage and new interviews with the core members, including reflections on the band’s rise to fame, relationships and catalogue. The title refers to “The Chain”, the only Fleetwood Mac song credited to all five members; Christine McVie died in 2022.
