David Beamer, father of 9/11 Flight 93 passenger Todd Beamer, used a Fox News interview to urge Michigan voters to reject Democratic socialist candidates, likening the upcoming election to a battle against domestic threats. Appearing on "America's Newsroom", he argued that Democratic socialists are more closely aligned with "domestic terrorists" than with American values, and framed voting as the modern equivalent of the resistance shown by his son and fellow passengers, who stormed the cockpit of the hijacked Flight 93 on 11 September 2001, preventing it from reaching Washington DC.

Beamer specifically endorsed Republican Mike Rogers in Michigan's Senate race over Democratic rival Dr Abdul El-Sayed, urging voters "across all platforms" to "vote American this time". He referenced past criticism of El-Sayed over a since-deleted 2021 social media post drawing comparisons between 9/11 casualties and deaths in US military interventions abroad, first reported by the Washington Free Beacon. Beamer said early voting, beginning in a few weeks, marked the start of this "battle", with the ballot as voters' "weapon". Fox News said it had contacted the El-Sayed campaign for comment but had not received a response.
