Football Daily | You want proper football? Here are the FA Cup first-round ties to look out for

The Football Association Cup first round proper brings together lower-league and non-league clubs, with 31 ties kicking off at 3pm GMT on Saturday. The preview highlights the competition’s appeal through local rivalries, club histories and unusual storylines, as well as the chance for smaller sides to challenge Football League teams.

Macclesfield, who famously knocked out holders Crystal Palace in January, travel to Mansfield, while Marine visit Bradford City and Cray Wanderers host League One leaders Stockport County. At Burton, Billy Sharp is set for a one-match return with AFC Rushden & Diamonds as he pursues his 300th career goal, having left Doncaster on 299. Other ties include Plymouth Argyle against Alvechurch and Peterborough, managed by Robbie Savage, hosting Reading, led by his son Charlie.
