Forest in talks with Celta Vigo over Javi Rueda as Axel Disasi joins Palace on loan

The Guardian · 2 hours ago

Nottingham Forest are in advanced talks to sign Celta Vigo right-back Javi Rueda for around €15m (£12.8m), a move likely to conclude their summer spending following the £50m signing of Liam Delap from Chelsea. Manager Oliver Glasner has been keen to bring in a player capable of operating at right wing-back, with the 24-year-old former Real Madrid academy player seen as fitting that role, as Forest reshape their squad for the season ahead.

Rueda, a former Spain youth international, joined Celta three years ago from Real Madrid, who would receive half of any transfer fee, and broke into the first team last season with 26 La Liga appearances and 11 in the Europa League. Elsewhere, Forest have loaned wing-back Eric da Silva Moreira to Dutch side Excelsior, while Chelsea have loaned defender Axel Disasi to Crystal Palace for the season, his third loan spell since joining from Monaco. Separately, Brentford have agreed a deal with West Ham to sign left-back El Hadji Malick Diouf for £35m plus up to £5m in add-ons, with the player keen to leave following West Ham's relegation.
