Forget ‘The White Lotus,’ This 4-Episode Thriller Miniseries Is the Perfect Replacement

Channel 5’s four-episode Australian thriller *Heat* is presented as a possible stand-in for *The White Lotus* while the latter’s fourth season is still in production. Both shows bring people on holiday together as hidden secrets and tensions emerge, but *Heat* adds the immediate threat of bushfires closing in on the families.

The 2023 miniseries follows two families sharing a secluded home in Victoria’s countryside: Steve, played by Danny Dyer, and his family, and his wealthier best friend Brad and his family. Suspected infidelity, financial strain and other long-buried secrets unsettle their relationships as the fires leave them increasingly isolated. *The White Lotus* season four is estimated to arrive in the first half of 2027.
