Fremantle, the London-based production company behind shows such as Kill Jackie and Baywatch, reported an 7.7% fall in half-year revenues but a sharp jump in earnings, according to results released by parent company RTL. Revenues dropped to €835M ($963M) from €905M a year earlier, a decline RTL attributed to timing effects in Fremantle's drama and film division, while its entertainment and documentaries business remained broadly stable. The company expects the shortfall to reverse in the second half of 2026, buoyed by upcoming productions including AMC+'s Kill Jackie and Fox's Baywatch.

Despite the revenue dip, Fremantle's adjusted EBITA rose from €39M to €60M ($69.2M), with its margin widening from 4.3% to 7.2%, putting it on course to hit a 9% full-year target. The improvement follows cost-cutting measures under a strategic review that saw Fremantle exit fully financing films, and comes weeks after it hired Katie O'Connell Marsh as CEO of its Global Scripted Hub. Across the wider RTL group, revenues were roughly flat at €2.9B while adjusted EBITA climbed to €239M from €160M, driven partly by strong streaming growth and the recent acquisition of Sky Deutschland.
