Two members of the Canadian hardcore band Fucked Up have launched a new side project called Crazy Clue, which has announced its debut album, Where The Dregs Dwell. The project marks a return to the harder, faster punk sound of the band's early days, and it arrives amid a busy period of output for Fucked Up, who released the single Year Of The Monkey just last month as part of a series concluding their two-decade Chinese Zodiac project.

Crazy Clue pairs Fucked Up guitarist and mastermind Mike Haliechuk and drummer Jonah Falco — who also record indie-pop together as Jade Hairpins — with Bobby Cole of UK hardcore bands including Total Con, the Annihilated and Antagonizm. The album's 10-track opener, "Social Pressure", is described as a bracing burst of '80s-style hardcore, said to recall Falco's band Career Suicide more than Fucked Up itself. Where The Dregs Dwell is due out on 7 August via Beach Impediment.
