Spain's national football team returned to Madrid to celebrate winning the 2026 World Cup, with thousands of fans lining the streets for an open-top bus parade in 35C heat. The team, managed by Luis de la Fuente, first visited King Felipe VI and the royal family at Zarzuela Palace before the parade began in the Moncloa district, culminating at the Cibeles Fountain, a traditional celebration site for Spanish football triumphs.

Captain Rodri lifted the trophy at the front of the bus and is now only the fourth men's player to have won the World Cup, European Championship, Champions League and Ballon d'Or. Ferran Torres, who scored the winning goal in the final, was also celebrated by fans, while Lamine Yamal referenced Sunday's post-match scuffles by holding up a fan's sign suggesting a boxing match between Gavi and Argentina's Leandro Paredes. Fifa has separately opened an investigation into the trouble that broke out after the final involving Argentina.
