Gang jailed for drug dealing and money laundering
Twelve people have been jailed for their roles in a Bradford-based gang that supplied more than 135kg of Class A drugs across Yorkshire and beyond. Police described the operation as an industrial-scale, sophisticated conspiracy, and said the case matters because it exposed a wide distribution network that generated substantial criminal profits.
Ringleader Idris Khan, 35, received 16 years in prison. Officers recovered 55kg of cocaine and heroin; courier Akif Hashmi was caught with 43kg of drugs and crack cocaine worth a combined £4.3m on the street. Other sentences ranged from three years and nine months to 14 years and nine months, while two further defendants are due to be sentenced on 28 October.
