Nathan Blagg, 28, has been jailed for more than seven years after driving a stolen tractor into a rival’s former family home in Middlesbrough. The revenge attack followed a violent feud with Luke Lancaster, and caused extensive damage, although nobody was inside; the case highlights the wider harm caused by gang-related violence.

Blagg stole the Massey Ferguson from a farm nine miles away and drove it, still attached to a £30,000 hay baler, into the house at speed on 9 May. Repairs to the tractor were estimated at £56,000, while the baler was written off; Blagg was later arrested after crashing a stolen Jaguar while disqualified, and police found searches relating to criminal-damage sentencing guidelines on his phone.
