GB win three golds at European Championships
Great Britain won three gold medals at the European Rowing Championships in Varese, Italy, taking victories in the women’s four, PR3 mixed coxed four and a men’s four development event. The results provide an encouraging marker ahead of the 2026 World Championships later this month, although Britain’s main men’s squad did not compete.
Eleanor Brinkhoff, Angharad Broughton, Sarah Marshall and Holly Youd resisted a late German challenge in the women’s four. The PR3 mixed coxed four won by nearly six seconds over Italy, while Theo Bell, Josh Brangan, Sam Ford and Tom O’Sullivan held off Romania in the men’s four; the World Championships will be held in the Netherlands from 24 to 30 August.
