The Track World Championships are the sport’s main global competition on an indoor, banked track called a velodrome. Riders compete in several events, including team pursuit, where two teams race around the track and try to catch or outpace one another, and the scratch race, a mass-start race decided by who crosses the line first.
Great Britain’s track cycling team competes against national squads from countries including Italy and Denmark. The championships bring together events for sprinters and endurance riders, and results can help show how teams compare internationally.
