Google is testing a Gemini feature on Pixel 11 that can call local businesses on a user’s behalf, handling tasks such as reservations, stock checks and appointment changes. The tool is intended to save users from waiting on hold, while keeping them involved through a live transcript and the option to take over at any time.

Gemini can introduce itself, navigate automated menus, wait for an employee and manage the conversation. The feature builds on Google’s earlier “Call for me” service, which lacked user takeover controls, and follows similar work by Meta. It is currently an early preview for US Gemini paid subscribers enrolled in the Phone by Google Public Beta on Pixel 11.
