Essa Suleiman, 45, has pleaded not guilty to three attempted murder charges after allegedly attacking a friend in Southwark and stabbing two Jewish men in Golders Green on 29 April. Prosecutors said the incident is no longer considered terrorism because there is insufficient evidence of a terrorist link, although possible racial or religious aggravation could still be considered.

The alleged victims, Shloime Rand, 34, and Moshe Shine, 76, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, including a punctured lung and a neck wound. The attack ended after a member of the public intervened and police Tasered Suleiman; he is currently in a secure psychiatric hospital, with a three-week trial scheduled for 1 March 2027.
