‘Good Boy’ Filmmaker Ben Leonberg to Direct Movie Adaptation of Horror Novella ‘Look Out’ for Republic Pictures (EXCLUSIVE)

Ben Leonberg will direct and co-write a film adaptation of the horror novella “Look Out” for Republic Pictures, following his feature debut with “Good Boy”. The project brings together the filmmaker and writer Alex Cannon again, while producers from Vertigo Entertainment and Artists Writers and Artisans are also attached.

The novella, written by Dan Baillie with artwork by Tim Bradstreet, was released in May 2025 as the first title in a “Future of Fear” partnership. It follows Oscar, who takes a remote forest fire lookout job while recovering from divorce and finds a paper listing rules meant to keep him safe; film plot details have not been released. Leonberg is also developing “Ankle Snatcher” and has his original horror film “Follow Mode” in post-production.
